ESSAY:
Please include a statement of desire and commitment to art. Tell us about your journey as an artist or interest in your field of art education, how long you have been involved with/in art, as well as why you have decided to pursue an art career. Also explain what field you are interested in and what goals you have for the future. Please list any art related activities or awards received and any exhibits or festivals participated in.
PORTFOLIO:
Please submit a body of work (minimum of 5 pieces) for review. Panel judges will be looking for consistency and quality, as well as future potential. See Criteria for details.
RELEASE:
Please sign the attached Model Release for promotional use by the Sam Collins Day Art Invitational Committee.
LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION:
Attach letter of recommendation from art teacher. See Criteria for specific information.
The Sam Collins Day Art Scholarship will be awarded to one individual annually. Award will be based 60% on commitment and 40% on portfolio.
Application, signed release, letter of recommendation, and portfolio must be submitted to Canton High School Art Department no later than April 15th
